Why did your organisation decide to focus on an environmental management system (EMS)?

As a responsible company, we have always focused on minimising our environmental impacts and maximising our commitment to sustainability. This cannot be separated from our focus on being a safe and healthy work place. It made sense that, if we were to have an EMS in place, it should be externally audited to provide assurances of integrity to stakeholders.
